Cajun Cafe on the Bayou was established in 1996
by Rebecca's father, Joe Thibodaux of Thibodaux, Louisiana.
To establish Cajun Cafe on the Bayou's original menu,
Joe hand-selected his favorite recipes from friends and family in the Thibodaux area. Many family arguments ensued over Joe's choices, as not all tastes are the same, but Joe won out and most of his favorites are still served at Cajun Cafe on the Bayou to this day.
When Paul and Rebecca purchased the restaurant in 2003, Paul, a beer-lover from Bristol, England, began stocking the bar with Fine Craft Ale. We now have an extensive beer selection that is sure to satisfy most tastes.
