Cajun Café on the Bayou

Serving freshly prepared, authentic Louisiana Cuisine & Fine Craft Ale, right on the bayou!  Since 1996!

Hours of Operation: Wed - Sun, 11:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Welcome to Cajun Cafe on the Bayou!

We are not your typical Cajun restaurant.

We are as well-known for our location on Cross Bayou and our large selection of fine craft ales, as we are for our authentic Louisiana Cuisine.

We do our best to keep our dining areas a pleasant and relaxing respite away from the hustle and bustle of today's modern world.

We have no televisions, no loud music, and we ask our guests to kindly use their cell phones outside and away from dining areas.  We are non-smoking, both inside and out.

Our focus is on good food, good beer, pleasant dinner conversation and clean air!

Credit Cards -- We accept Visa, MasterCard, AMEX & Discover

We serve Lunch and Dinner.  Attire is casual.  We take reservations for parties of 5 or more.  Walk-Ins Welcome.

Hours of Operation:  Wednesday - Sunday, 11:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.  Closed Monday and Tuesday.

About Our Owner, Paul Unwin

Paul is from Thornbury, near Bristol, in England.  He moved to Florida in 2003 and purchased Cajun Café on the Bayou from his father-in-law, Joe Thibodaux, that same year.

Paul became a US citizen in Sep of 2009.

Paul has travelled to Louisiana many times and has even visited the bayous with one of our first crawfish vendors.  He also travels to Breaux Bridge, Louisiana and maintains a friendship with Floyd Poche of Poche’s Market, Restaurant and Smokehouse, our sausage and Cajun meat vendor.

Paul regularly travels around the US, getting acquainted with breweries and brewers.

Event Schedule

We will not be serving live boiled crawfish until after Easter. Right now, they're far too expensive for us to even consider importing them. After Easter, when the lenten season is over in Louisiana, we're hoping that the market will loosen up a bit. As of now, we will not be serving live crawfish until April.

Also, there is no crawfish festival scheduled for this year.

Sorry to all of you who are disappointed by this news.
